Build Something With Us

Join a small, fast-growing BC moving and logistics company where resourceful people can make an impact

WHO WE ARE

Vancouver Island Movers is part of Halcyon Logistics Inc., a young, fast-growing BC moving and logistics company building a family of specialized moving brands across British Columbia.

We're still a small team, and that's part of the opportunity. We're looking for smart, resourceful people who want to get in early, take on real responsibility and help us build something great.

Our Culture & Values

We're a small, fast-moving team with an informal culture, plenty of independence and three values that guide how we work.

Resourcefulness

FIGURE IT OUT

You don't need to have all the answers. You need to be someone who can find them.

Honesty

TELL THE TRUTH

Be straightforward, own your mistakes and speak up when something isn't right.

Ownership

SEE IT THROUGH

Take responsibility for the outcome, follow through and don't assume someone else will take care of it.

Open Positions

We're currently growing our team across Vancouver Island Movers and Halcyon Logistics. Experience matters, but attitude, judgement and alignment with our values matter more.

Inside Sales Associate

The Role

As an Inside Sales Associate, you'll be one of the first people our customers speak with. You'll manage incoming leads across our moving brands, understand what each customer needs, build accurate estimates, follow up on opportunities and turn inquiries into booked moves.

This is primarily an inbound sales role, but it isn't an order-taking position. We want someone comfortable picking up the phone, asking good questions, following up consistently, handling objections and confidently asking for the sale.

You don't need moving industry experience. We'll teach you that part. We're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to new phone, website, email and text inquiries
  • Speak with customers to understand their move and requirements
  • Prepare and present estimates
  • Follow up consistently with open opportunities
  • Handle customer questions and sales objections
  • Convert estimates into booked moves
  • Manage and organize your own sales pipeline
  • Maintain accurate information and follow-ups in our CRM
  • Coordinate with operations when additional planning is required

Who We're Looking For

  • Resourceful and naturally good at figuring things out
  • Self-directed and comfortable working independently
  • Confident and personable on the phone
  • Competitive and motivated by results
  • Persistent without being pushy
  • Organized and comfortable managing multiple conversations
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
  • Honest, accountable and reliable

Opportunity to Grow

As our sales team grows, this role has a potential path into Sales Team Lead and eventually Sales Manager. For the right person, there is a real opportunity to help build and eventually manage a larger sales team.

Our Interview Process

We care more about attitude, judgement and how you approach problems than having the perfect resume.

  1. Behavioural Assessment

If your resume is shortlisted, you'll receive a link to complete a short online behavioural assessment focused on how you think, communicate and approach different situations.

  2. 30-Minute Interview with Ownership

Selected candidates will have a conversation with Halcyon's ownership team about your experience, how you work and what you're looking for in your next role.

  3. Final Team Interview

The final stage is an informal conversation with members of the team you'll be working with. It's a chance for both sides to get to know each other before making a final decision.

Operations Coordinator

The Role

The Operations Coordinator sits at the centre of Halcyon's day-to-day operations.

You'll be the link between our office team and our field operations, making sure information, schedules, customer requirements and operational changes get to the right people at the right time.

You'll work closely with sales, customer service and dispatch on one side, and our movers, crew leaders and field operations team on the other. You'll also work closely with ownership and support parts of the accounting and finance side of the business.

This is primarily a remote position, but it isn't desk-only. You'll occasionally spend time in the field alongside our crews and field leadership to stay connected to what's happening on the ground and support operations when needed.

What You'll Do

This is intentionally a broad role. You'll work across different parts of the business depending on what operations need.

Operations & Dispatch

  • Help coordinate daily operations, schedules, crews, vehicles and capacity
  • Make sure field teams have the information, equipment and support they need
  • Monitor active jobs and help solve operational issues as they arise
  • Spend time on-site with field teams when required
  • Keep operational records, job closeouts and follow-ups organized

Sales & Customer Service

  • Act as a link between sales, customer service, dispatch and field operations
  • Make sure important job information flows properly through the business
  • Help resolve issues requiring coordination between teams
  • Identify gaps and recurring operational problems

Accounting & Finance

  • Support job billing, payment tracking and job closeouts
  • Help verify crew hours, expenses and invoices
  • Assist with basic job costing, reporting and financial administration

Who We're Looking For

  • Highly resourceful and naturally good at figuring things out
  • Extremely organized and comfortable juggling priorities
  • Calm when plans change or problems arise
  • A clear communicator with both office and field teams
  • Comfortable making decisions and using judgement
  • Good with numbers and attention to detail
  • Comfortable learning new systems and software
  • Someone who follows through without needing reminders
  • Honest, accountable and dependable

Opportunity to Grow

This role gives you exposure to almost every part of the business. For the right person, there are natural paths into senior leadership on either the field operations side or the office, sales and customer service side of Halcyon.

Mover Team Lead

The Role

As a Mover Team Lead, you're responsible for the move once the crew arrives on site.

You'll lead a crew of movers, communicate with the customer, coordinate with dispatch and make sure each move is completed safely, efficiently and professionally.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be wrapping, lifting, loading and unloading alongside your crew while also keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

Moving doesn't always go according to plan. We need Team Leads who can assess what's in front of them, use good judgement and find a way forward.

What You'll Do

  • Review each job, plan the approach and assign work
  • Keep the crew organized, productive and working safely
  • Adapt when access, inventory or conditions change

  • Plan and execute safe, efficient truck loading and unloading
  • Safely operate 1-ton and 4-ton box trucks
  • Complete appropriate pre-trip vehicle checks

  • Make sure customer belongings are properly secured for transport

Own the Customer Experience

  • Be the primary customer contact on moving day
  • Walk through the job and confirm expectations
  • Communicate clearly throughout the move
  • Handle reasonable questions and concerns on site
  • Complete required job documentation and customer sign-off
  • Identify eligible additional services that genuinely benefit the customer

Develop Your Crew

  • Set the standard for how the crew works and interacts with customers
  • Coach newer movers on technique, protection, loading and customer service
  • Identify performance or safety issues and address them appropriately
  • Help develop strong movers into future Team Leads

Driving Requirements

  • Valid BC Class 5 driver's licence
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • Previous experience operating 1-ton box trucks
  • Previous experience operating 4-ton box trucks
  • Confidence driving larger commercial vehicles in urban, residential and highway environments

Compensation

$33–$36/hour, plus customer tips and commission on eligible in-field upsells.
